In this post, I am going to review WetnWild Color Icon Bronzer.

What the brand says

Indulge yourself with Color Icon bronzer, a gel-infused, long-wearing formula that leaves skin looking luminous and with a sun-kissed glow. Use to highlight your most-loved features and transform yourself into a bronzed goddess all year long. Shadow and shade the brow line with our elegant ground baking formula or use it to contour like a pro to achieve those sculpted cheeks and defined high points granted by your favourite digital filter. This gel-infused hybrid applies like a cream and sets like a powder adding a natural tan flush when applied to the skin. Don’t limit use to the face, try adding to your neck and collar bones for an all-over glow.

What do I think about WetnWild Color Icon Bronzer?

About the packaging

This product comes in a see-through plastic packaging that shows the brand and product name, both printed in golden letters. It has two stickers, one with the shade name and number and the other with the weight of the product included in the packaging. The back of the packaging is made of black plastic and has a sticker showing the ingredient list.

The lid closes with a click and closes the system securely, which is fine to avoid accidental opening of the pack when you carry it in your bag. You will not have, therefore, any mess in your bag.

The pan inside is very big. It contains 11 grams of product which is quite a lot for a so affordable product. The bronzer shows a leaf shape sculpted on it, very cute, which brings to your head beach landscapes images.

About the shade

I only have the shade Palm Beach Ready. It is not very dark but is lightly tanned skin. It has a warm undertone that matches my skin undertone (I have a Fitzpatrick IV skin type with a warm peach undertone).

This bronzer contains shimmer particles, which are visible under the naked eye. I am not a fan of face products with shimmer particles (excepting very fine particles in highlighters) and I bought this one by mistake when I thought of getting the Ticket to Brazil shade. However, I do not dislike how it looks on the skin. If you are not concerned about having shimmer particles on your face this bronzer will look nice for you.

In fact, I love to use it during summertime as it brings a lot of luminosity to your skin.

About WetnWild Color Icon Bronzer the texture and pigmentation

This bronzer has a smooth and lightly creamy texture though it feels like a cream-powder texture. It is not chalky at all and you can get an even application of the product easily. To get the better from this bronzer I like to apply it with an angled quite dense brush.

It is not highly pigmented, which is a pro for a face product from my point of view. A very pigmented bronzer can leave a nasty line on the face if you don’t apply it with a light hand.

It has a semi-opaque base with buildable coverage. You can easily apply a few layers of the product if you want a deeper colour without leaving an uneven effect.

The product blends well and does not emphasise skin textures.

About the lasting power

I normally apply makeup in the morning, before going to my job. This product lasts on my face for a full working day, which is about 8 hours. However, it is not waterproof.

I noticed that in summer, during very hot days when you sweat more, the lasting power is a bit less and after half a day most of the bronzer is gone and, therefore, you need to re-apply.

In summary, this bronzer has a nice shade (except for the shimmer particles), is very easy to apply and blend and has an acceptable lasting power. It is affordable as the pack comes with a lot of products (you can have bronzer for years). It is vegan and cruelty-free.

I should say it is ideal except for the negative point that it has shimmer particles.

Pros

  • Nice shade
  • Cream-powder texture
  • Buildable pigmentation
  • Blendable
  • Do not emphasise skin texture
  • Last long time
  • Affordable
  • Vegan and cruelty-free

Cons

  • Has shimmer particles
  • Not good for people with dark skin

Do I recommend it?

If you don’t mind having a bronzer with shimmer particles, I do recommend it. Keep in mind that it is a light brown shade, so it may be too light if you have dark skin.

I would like to try any of the other shades which have a satin finish, I may like more than this shade. I would like to buy Ticket to Brazil or Sunset Striptease.

I love beauty and skincare, try new products, and share my opinion with you. All my knowledge comes from years of experience and reading articles. I have dry skin, Fitzpatrick type IV, warm undertone, and my main concern is hyperpigmentation. Keep in mind that what works for me may not work for you. We are all different and products can have different results on your skin. Want to talk? Email me at contact@irenebeautyandmore.com
