Today I am going to review TheBody Shop’s Camomile Cleansing Butter. I read different reviews about this product, most of them were good, and I decided to try and see how it works. I have been using this as the first step in double-cleansing. Did I like it? Continue reading to know……

What the brand says about Camomile Cleansing Butter

Any attempts at winged eyeliner vanish just like that. Massage our Camomile Cleansing Butter into your skin to melt the day away.

This purifying cleanser also helps to stop those hidden nasties from clogging up your pores, and used on the reg will keep skin feeling refreshed and nourished.

Price and Availability

You can buy in The Body Shop in two different sizes, travel size and full size. The travel size contains 20 mL and costs £5, while the full-size price is £11 for 90 mL.

My opinion about Camomile Cleansing Butter

The product comes in a metallic tin with a screw cap. It is very compact and easy to carry when you travel, though the screw cap is not the best option. On the lid, there is a sticker with the product’s name and The Body Shop logo and some chamomile flowers printed out. The bottom part of the tin has a sticker showing the INCI and information about the product, such as PAO and other legal requirements (check out this post to know more about legal requirements in cosmetic labels).

Inside the tin, there is a white buttery semisolid product, with a soft citrusy smell to chamomile. The product melts easily when is in contact with the skin, producing a soft oil.

The Body Shop, I seriously encourage you to include a spatula to pick up the product, it is not very hygienic to introduce your fingers to the product. It is a serious problem if you don’t take enough product the first time with your clean hands, imagine introducing the fingers full of product and melted makeup. All these problems can be solved with a simple spatula.

I used first the normal size, which lasted for more than four months for me, using it once a day, five days a week. It lasts long as a small amount of product is enough to clean your face. I have now the travel size version, as I want to try other cleansers but want to keep this on my stash.

I normally take an almond size of product with my spatula and dispense it on my hands. I rubber it few seconds between my hands to melt it and get the oil and I massage my face with this oil. I use it all over my face, including the eyelids. Then I wash the mixture of oil and makeup with warm water and a reusable pad. This butter does not leave any kind of residue after rinsing.

The first thing I notice is that my face becoming clean. All my makeup has gone, including waterproof mascara. The face is not oily at all, and I have a pleasant feeling. Normally my skin is dry and after using this cleanser I feel my face hydrated.

As I mentioned, I use this product to remove my eye makeup and I don’t get any discomfort or blur vision in my eyes, despite I wear contact lenses and have quite sensitive eyes.

The product contains some good ingredients in its formula such as olive oil, shea butter, sunflower seed oil and chamomile essential oil.

Conclusion

I love this cleansing butter and I think I will always have a tin on my skincare bag. It has a pleasant smell, leaves my skin clean and does not leave any tightness or dry feeling. It is gentle with my eyes, full of good ingredients and cruelty-free. Another important point for me is that it does not come with any external or plastic packaging.

I highly recommend it for anyone with dry to normal skin.

✔ Pros

  • Cleans well
  • Hydrates skin
  • Does not leave blur vision
  • Lovely smell
  • Does not leave residue on the face
  • Lasts long
  • Environmental friendly

✖ Cons

  • Poor availability
  • Should include a spatula

❓ Will I buy it again?

Of course. In fact, the tin I have now is my third tin. I love the product.
