Live Well Green Tea Face Mask Review

I like to take a moment for myself once in a while and normally I choose Sunday evenings as my pampering time when I make my manicure, cleanse my face deeply and apply a face mask. I prefer the masks coming in a pot rather than using sheet masks, which have a negative environmental impact. Recently, Live Well Natural Skincare gifted me the Live Well Green Tea Face Mask. I’ve been using it for some time and I will share my opinion with you.

About Live Well Natural Skincare

Live Well Natural Skincare is a UK-based beauty company owned by a woman, Pam, who has a philosophy which matches fully mine: let nature nurture your skin and enjoy the benefits it can bring you. Live Well’s website contains a good selection of green beauty products, containing all-natural ingredients and sustainable packaging.

All the products available on this website are suitable for any skin type, even sensitive skin. They are cruelty-free because any animal should suffer in the creation of beauty products.

I will publish soon an interesting interview with Pam, the person behind this amazing brand.

What does the brand say about the product?

A rich and creamy face mask, infused with green tea, draws out impurities and excess oil from the skin resulting in a fresh healthy glow.

My opinion about Live Well Green Tea Face Mask

About the packaging

This face mask comes in a 100% recyclable plastic pot in white. It closes with a white screw cap. I should say it is a very minimalist packaging which produces peaceful and relaxing feelings.

The packaging has a sticker which shows the company logo and product name as well as other important information like ingredients, how to use, and warnings among others.

It came with a foil lid sealing the product completely. I removed it the first time I used the product. That foil lid protects the product against damages caused by light, bacteria and air.

How is Live Well Green Tea Face Mask?

When you look at the product, it does not feel very appealing. It looks like a sort of dark grey mud…… It is quite ugly view. However, the important point of this mask is the effect it produces on your skin and not the physical appearance of the product.

It does not have any artificial smell but it is not odourless either. The smell is a sort of muddy smell. I don’t say it is a bad smell but not nice either. It is a quite strange smell.

The mask feels wet and cold when you touch it. The second ingredient on the ingredient list is mud and, therefore, the texture is exactly that one, it has a muddy texture. It reminds me of the clay I used when I was a little girl.

About the Ingredients

This product contains only vegetarian ingredients and is sulphate and paraben-free. Looking at the ingredient list, the only not-so-good ingredients are the fragrance ingredient. However, in this case, all the fragrance ingredients are naturally occurring in essential oils, which means that they are not artificial and will not be so bad for the skin. Keep in mind anyway if you suffer from any skin irritation.

The second ingredient is Dead Sea Mud, a good clay for skin mild exfoliation. It contains also anti-oxidant ingredients such as olive oil and green tea extract, with a lot of benefits for the skin. People with dry skin, as it is my case, can use this product as it is not going to dry the skin thanks to the glycerin and hyaluronic acid present in the formula. Among the ingredients, we can also find cucumber extract which is a soothing ingredient, something desirable in this type of face mask.

About Live Well Green Tea Face Mask Application

This product is easy to apply. You only need to apply a thin layer of product covering all your face and neck and let it dry and do the job. It is very easy and quick to extend the product on your face, it slides easily on your skin. You can also feel the wet and cold feeling on your face when you apply.

This product does not come with a spatula to apply and that is something I miss. I think it should include it to avoid introducing your fingers into the pot. I have a few skincare spatulas I bought from Amazon which I use to apply this product.

Once applied, you should leave it for about 10 minutes. During this time the mud will start to dry over your skin. However, you will not have a tight, dry feeling as you feel with other clay masks. Although this mud dries, you still will have a wet feeling on your face.

It is easy to rinse off. I use a reusable pad with warm water to completely eliminate the mud off my face. This product normally does not leave residue after rinsing.

How is my skin after using this product?

I’ve been using this product once a week to make a deep skin cleansing. After rinsing it off I feel my skin really clean. I feel that all the rest of the dirt and makeup from inside my pores are gone (yes, there always remains some rest of dirt and makeup even if you do the double cleansing daily).

I can also feel my skin soft and supple, I like to define it as baby skin. My face feels radiant and ready to start a new week of makeup.

Sometimes when using clay masks my face is tight and dry after rinsing. However, I’ve never had this tightness or dryness after using this face mask, although my skin is dry.
