🧪 My Story

Everything in life is chemistry — and that includes the ingredients in every product on your bathroom shelf. That’s really what pulled me toward cosmetic science in the first place: the realisation that the same logic I use every day could explain what’s actually happening in a moisturiser or a serum.

Day to day, I’m a chemist, working in a chemistry laboratory. That background changed the way I look at cosmetics for good — I can’t read an ingredient list without wanting to know what’s actually in it, why it’s there, and what it’s doing.

💧 Why Skincare Science Matters to Me

I grew up in a time when skincare advice was mostly guesswork — myths and fads dressed up as facts, everywhere you looked. I lived with the consequences on my own skin: hyperpigmentation that I believe I could have avoided with better information.

That’s exactly why I do this now. The more people understand their own skin and the ingredients they’re putting on it, the less likely they are to make the mistakes I made. Increasing knowledge is, genuinely, the best tool we have.

🎯 My Positioning

Testing skincare for barrier support, not trends.

Trends move fast. Skin doesn’t really care about trends. I’m not interested in telling you a product is “amazing” — I’m interested in what an ingredient actually does, why it’s in a formula, and whether it’s doing anything for your skin specifically.

I test everything I write about — drugstore and luxury, texture and formula, and how it actually performs over time on my own skin: dry, mature, and with sun damage. I’ll tell you when something works, when it doesn’t, and when it’s just fine — because “just fine” is a real, useful answer too.

🎬 My Creator Journey

This started as a hobby, not a plan. I loved writing about skincare — especially product reviews — long before I thought of it as anything more than something I genuinely enjoyed doing.

For a long time, I was too shy to put myself on camera. Getting past that wasn’t easy — but I wanted this to be more than a hobby. I wanted a real personal brand, something I’d built myself. So I did it anyway.

That same honesty and science-first approach carries into the collaborations I do with brands today.

🐾 Life Off-Screen

When I’m not testing skincare or writing, you’ll usually find me in Northumberland — one of the most beautiful corners of England — with my cat Luna close by. She’s my constant companion, and honestly, this page wouldn’t feel complete without her in it.
