A Soap and Glory Face Wash Review

In the 2021 Christmas, I bought the Soap&Glory Advent Calendar and one of the products included was the Face Soap and Clarity Vitamin C Facial Wash. I got a 50 mL tube, enough to try the product and have a solid opinion about it. In this post, I am going to review this Soap and Glory Face Wash.

What does the brand say?

A marvellous must-have addition to any cleansing routine. Our 3-in-1 Face Soap And Clarity Vitamin C Facial Wash is a multi-tasking marvel, specially formulated for those who prefer to wash their face, but still gently remove makeup, lightly exfoliate and not end up with dry or dehydrated skin.

Face Soap and Clarity Vitamin C Facial Wash does what it says on the tin but fails to mention the way miracle workers and powerful antioxidants, Vitamin C and Yuzu fruit extracts, combine effortlessly, alongside biodegradable wax scrub beads, to cleanse, remove make-up and exfoliate for fresher, more radiant skin in just 7 days! Did someone say complexion perfection?

Not only is the formula packed with superstar-level ingredients – we’ve added fragrant notes of calming chamomile, mega-fresh mint, aromatic sage and a twist of eucalyptus and zesty lemon grass oils, for a truly unforgettable cleanse, morning, noon or night!

Soap and Glory Face Wash Warnings

For anybody who prefers to wash their face, but still gently remove make-up, lightly exfoliate and not wind up with dry, dehydrated skin one size too small, help is at hand. FACE SOAP AND CLARITY™ Vitamin C Facial Wash does what it says on the tin but fails to mention the way miracle workers and powerful antioxidants, Vitamin C and Yuzu fruit extract combine to effortlessly cleanse, remove make-up and exfoliate for fresher, more radiant skin.

Price and availability

This product is an affordable face wash. Its price is £7.95 ($12) for 350 mL or £2.45 for 100 mL. You can buy it from the Soap and Glory website or Boots in the UK and from Ulta if you are in the US.

My thoughts about this Soap and Glory Face Wash

Soap and Glory Face Wash Packaging

I have the 50 mL tube which is identical to the 100 mL one. The 350 mL product comes in a different type of packaging. It comes in a plastic bottle with a flip-top cap. However, I am going to talk only about the 100 mL product packaging, which is the one I used.

The product comes in a plastic transparent squeeze tube. A sticker covers almost the full tube and shows information about the product. This sticker shows the product’s name, the brand, product size and other relevant information.

It is closed by a plastic white flip-top cap. After opening it, a nozzle becomes visible. This nozzle delivers the product and allows controlling the amount you need.

As with most plastic squeeze tubes, the main problem is that it is not easy to dispense the entire product. If you don’t want to waste the product, you should cut the pack to access the last bits of the product.

Soap and Glory Face Wash Texture and Smell

This product has a gel consistency. The colour is something between pale blue and pale green and has small pink wax beads. These beads are quite hard and don’t dissolve with water during the wash. Furthermore, these beads are biodegradable and, therefore, don’t harm the environment.

The product has a pleasant smell. It is a mixture of minty and citrusy smells. This smell feels invigorating and I like that smell in the mornings when I am still waking up. It does not stay a long time after rinsing the product but lasts enough time to leave a refreshing feeling.

Soap and Glory Face Wash Application

I have been using this product during my morning routine, as I prefer more relaxing smells for my night routine.

I squeeze a chickpea amount of product on my hands, rubbed it between them to lather and then apply it over a damp face. The product foams very nicely. I love that, I have the feeling (I know, a wrong feeling) that if a cleanser doesn’t foam it doesn’t clean. With this one, I get a really good amount of foam.

I massage the product on my skin for a few minutes and I get a refreshing feeling. Thanks to the small pink wax beads, this product makes a very soft physical exfoliation. This exfoliation is so mild that even people with sensitive skin can use this product (I am talking only from the exfoliation point of view, I may not recommend it for people with sensitive skin for different reasons).

Finally, I rinse off the product with warm water. The product goes easily and I don’t get any residue on my skin.

How does my skin feel?

After rinsing off the product, my skin feels clean. That is the most important property of a cleanser and this product is making the job it is meant to do. However, it goes a bit further. I don’t get any oily or sticky feeling on my skin at all.

I feel my skin fresh, smooth and soft. The mild exfoliation this product does is ideal to keep soft and smooth skin. It is a soft exfoliation but, as you are doing it daily, there is no dead cell accumulation.

I have dry skin and I tend to avoid cleansers which dry my skin even more or cleansers which leave a tight feeling on my face. I don’t get a tight feeling with this face wash. Of course, I can’t say this product leaves my skin hydrated (I don’t expect that from a cleanser), but it doesn’t dry it either.

Soap and Glory Face Wash Ingredients

The two ingredients I would like to feature in this cleanser are glycerine and ascorbyl glucoside. Glycerine is an amazing skincare ingredient. It has moisturising and humectant properties and it is perfect for people with dry skin. The ascorbyl glucoside is a vitamin C derivative and, therefore, has antioxidant and brightening properties.

This product contains also tocopherol (vitamin E) and other emollients like glyceryl oleate, synthetic wax and some hydrogenated glycerine derivatives.

The cleansing agents are Cocamidopropyl betaine, PEG-7, glyceryl cocoate and coco-glucoside. They are all mild cleansing ingredients and are responsible for bubble formation and stabilization.

Although the brand claims this product is suitable for all skin types, from the ingredient list we can see that it has an important number of fragrance ingredients. I think people with sensitive skin may have skin irritations when using the product. Therefore, I recommend being extra careful the first time you use the product.

Face Soap and Clarity Vitamin C Facial Wash

Do I recommend this product?

I like this product and I will re-purchase it. I highly recommend it to people with any skin type. However, people with sensitive skin should be careful when using it for the first time.

In summary, I like this cleanser. It does a good job and has an affordable price. My skin feels clean, soft and without a tight feeling after using it. One positive point is the mild exfoliation the product does thanks to the small pink particles.
