2020 Empties III
I cannot believe we are at the end of the year. Last year by this time I even didn’t think about writing about beauty. It was only around Easter time when I started thinking on the idea to have a beauty blog and it took me few month to shape the idea and give birth to this blog. That is why I don’t keep track of all the 2020 empties.
I started to keep the empties to show only after creating the blog, around June-July. At the beginning, I was keeping only skincare and makeup product but later I started to keep also products as shower gel, deodorants, etc.
This is the third Empties post I write this year. I posted the fist one in July and the second part in November. I invite you to read them if you want to read about all what I finished half of this 2020. That is the last batch of 2020 Empties.
Body and Hair Care Empties
I finished couple of shower gel. One of them is the Passion Fruit Shower Gel by The Body Shop. I like the fragrance and the gel itself, but I find it quite expensive so I don’t think I will buy it again.
The other one is the Nivea Indulgent Moisture Star Fruit Shower Cream. I love Nivea shower products and I frequently buy the brand. I tried this Star Fruit gel in the past. I love the smell, how it foams and how your skin feels after the shower. I will buy it again, actually, I am using now other Nivea shower gel in a different aroma.
I finished the Sanex 24 H Antiperspirant and Yves Rocher Deodorant with Pomegranate from Spain. Both of them are good. The problem with Yves Rocher is that they don’t deliver anymore to the UK but I still have few units I bought in my last travel to Spain. I will buy Sanex again and Yves Rocher if I am allowed to travel to Spain or France.
The unique hair product I finished after start to keep the empties is a dry shampoo. It is the Percy&Reed Dry Shampoo and I got it in a beauty box. It is not bad, but I will not buy it again. I don’t normally use this type of products.
Skincare Empties
Cleansers are the products I use more. I finished Ziaja Olive Oil Micellar Water. I like it but the problem is that you can buy only online, while the other I used are easily available. If I place an order online I will buy this one again.
Nivea Micellar Water is other of the micellar waters I finished. I don’t like too much, my skin feels dry and dehydrated with that micellar water.
I finished other bottle of my favourite micellar water, Garnier Micellar Water the one with the pink cap. It is the second bottle I finish this year and I am using a third one. That is one of the product which is always part of my stash.
Simple is a brand I trust for cleanser. I have never tried before the Simple Moisturising Facial Wash and I am satisfied with it. Maybe it is not the best cleanser in the market, but it does the job and leaves the skin clean and moisturised. However, I prefer the Simple Refreshing cleanser.
One cleanser which I didn’t like when I started using but I love now is the The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash. It makes good foam, cleans the skin without drying it and smells lovely to tea tree. It is also affordable as it costs only £3. I have the spare waiting in my cabinet.
I finished one day cream, Garnier Essentials. It is super-affordable, but if you have dry skin, this cream is not enough to keep your skin hydrated. I will not repeat this one.
Other skincare product I finished is the Delia Mandelic Acid 5%. I am trying different AHA serum to reduce hyperpigmentation on my skin and mandelic acid was working well. However I need to say that I will buy mandelic acid again, but from a different brand. And that is not for the quality of the product but because Delia includes only 5 mL while other brands include more volume for the same money.
To finish with skincare products, I would like to mention Yves Rocher 3 minutes mask with pomegranate. I like this type os masks, I find very useful to apply while you take the shower and you save lot of time. I find this Yves Rocher mask really refreshing and my skin feels soft after applying. Unfortunately, I am using now the last tube I brought from Spain, so as soon as I can go to Spain, I will buy more if it is still available.
Makeup Products
I finish quite a lot PS makeup products. I finished the PS Matte Foundation, Matte Primer and Matte Lipstick. I really love the primer, it has a silicon touch that I like in primers. Unfortunately, I could never find it in store after I finished this one. The PS Lipstick is also very good. My favourite lip finish is matte and this one had a lovely finish and was quite long-lasting. I will not buy again because it dried really quick after opening.
The foundation is not bad, but there are lots of foundations I like more than this one, what means that I will not buy it again.
There is something I cannot say is finished, but discarded, and is the foundation brush. I like how this brush blends the foundation with your skin and I have already couple of spares. The problem with this one was that it started to loose the hairs and it was leaving hairs through all my face.
Expired Products
We need to keep an eye on the expire date of our cosmetics and take them out of the collection once in a while. This time I am discarding three of them. One of them is a sun screen which expired last year. Sun protectors are quite delicate and it is better not to use them after the expire date.
The primer water is not expired but I hate how it feels on my face. If I am not going to use it I prefer to bin it and free space in my cabinet.
Finally, the Marie Jardin Hyaluronic Acid has a strange smell last time I used and I don’t want to suffer skin problems. If I am not sure about the smell or texture of a product, that product goes to the bin.
And that is all for this year.
I think this will be the last post of 2020. I wish you a Happy New Year and hope you continue reading me during 2021.
