In this post, I am going to review The Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub. It is a limited edition released during summer 2021. Am I going to buy this product massively before it is sold out?
What the brand says about Raspberry Body Scrub
Scrub up a treat with this new special edition body scrub. Made with raspberry seeds, the scrub has a lovely pulpy texture that gently exfoliates your skin, leaving it feeling cleansed, refreshed and smelling like a punnet of raspberries.
A brilliant addition to your shower routine, buff a handful of scrub into damp skin (we’re a fan of the circular motion) before following with the matching shower gel for a fragrant burst of summer fruits.
But you’re here for the best bit – the smell. The special edition Fresh Raspberry range smells like real juicy raspberries ripe from the pick-your-own: tangy, juicy, with a hint of green.

My experience using Fresh Raspberry Body Scrub
How the product looks like
I never intended to buy this product until I went to The Body Shop to buy a present for a friend and saw it half price. I couldn’t avoid buying it after smelling it.
The product comes in a plastic pot with a screw cap. This pot is transparent and has a sticker all around which displays the information about the product. The lid is also made in plastic and displays the name of the product together with raspberry drawings.
The product itself is, obviously, in raspberry colour and has a jelly consistency. It has fine particles responsible for the exfoliation. The size of these particles is such that they give a gentle exfoliation without any skin damage.
This product’s smell is amazing if you like the raspberry scent. It is quite a deep scent but it does not feel artificial at all. It smells like when I just harvest a punnet of raspberries from my allotment plants, so fruity and juicy.
How do I use Fresh Raspberry Body Scrub?
I use this product as recommended. Sometimes I use it before the shower gel and other times after the wash. I scoop some product with my fingers and apply with circular massage all over the skin. You can see in the picture the amount of product I take for each part of the body. After massaging well, I rinse the product off and continue with my normal washing if I used the scrub before the shower gel.
How do I feel after using this product?
Firstly, the use of this product brings a relaxation moment. The scent fills the bathroom and allows me to relax after a long working day.
Secondly, my skin becomes smooth and soft. I have very dry skin and, normally, my skin is rough. I tried different body scrubs, most of them leaving a feeling of scratched or damaged skin. However, this one leaves my skin soft, like baby skin, I should say. I can even feel a deeper tan on my skin.
I am using the product every other day and it is the first year that I have my skin so supple. The days I use it after washing my body, I can even skip my moisturiser, as my body is hydrated with this body scrub.
That is something you can expect by looking at the ingredient list. Among the first five ingredients, this product contains glycerine and castor oil. Excluding the first ingredient, water, which is the highest percentage ingredient, the amount of glycerine and castor oil are around 5% each. In addition, the formula contains raspberry extract, which has antioxidant properties.
Other considerations
Before I used the product, I thought this was going to stain my skin or the bath, as it is very deep raspberry in colour. Additionally, raspberries normally stain the skin. However, it doesn’t stain. It rinses off easily from the skin and the bath.
In addition to that, as scrub particles are crushed raspberry seeds, the product is not harmful to the environment. As particles are natural and biodegradable, they can go straight away through the drain without any concern.
The only thing I don’t like about the product is the fact that it comes in a plastic pot, though I understand the danger of using a glass jar in the bath or shower.
In summary, this is a good product that leaves my skin smooth and supple without producing any damage. It hydrates my skin, something very convenient for people with dry skin. In addition, the texture feels very pleasant on the body and the smell is lovely. Unfortunately, it is a limited edition product.
