Aldi Lacura New Affordable Korean Skincare Set
Recently ALDI launched a new skincare collection of K-beauty products. It is an affordable Korean skincare set. The collection consists of different product types – face serum, moisturiser, eye cream, sleeping mask and three different lip balms, all based on different fruit and very similar to other brand products (Glow Recipe and Laneige). I had the opportunity to try most of them. The ALDI where I buy brought almost the full range, and I want to share my feelings about the products with you.
Lacura Avocado Eye Cream
This Lacura Avocado Overnight Eye Cream helps improve the appearance of dullness and dark circles while you sleep! Formulated with Coffee Seed Extract and Retinol, this sleeping mask will help the skin around the eyes look more lifted, firmer and brighter. With added Avocado Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide), this overnight mask helps skin feel moisturised and smooth, for rested looking eyes. Simply apply a small amount to the under-eye area after cleansing in place of your normal nightly eye cream and gently tap the product into the skin to encourage absorption. For daytime use, layer with an SPF safe for the under-eye area if you wish
Features
- Overnight retinol sleep mask
- Helps to improve dark circles and skin dullness
- Skin appears brighter and firmer
- Vitamin B3 infused
- Contains avocado oil, coffee seed, shea butter, and retinol
The product comes in a box with small avocado prints out, really cute. Inside, there is a very simple but functional pale green jar, with a screw cap. There is nothing in the jar except a small Lacura logo in white letters.
The cream is white, almost odourless and with the right consistency for my eyes. I apply a rice grain amount with my medium finger all around the eyes, that means, under my eyes and on my eyelids. I know some people recommend not to apply on the eyelid, but I want that area hydrated too.
I have been using this cream for a week and a half only but I feel the under-eye area a bit more clear in the morning when I get up.
The price is £4.49 for 15 ML
Lacura pineapple serum
You’ll be left feeling like a fine apple after using this gorgeous Lacura Pineapple Face Serum. This clever formula delivers a combination of Pineapple Extract, Vitamin C and Turmeric Extract to help balance skin tone for skin that appears more radiant and refreshed use after use. Formulated with Acai Extract and Sodium Hyaluronate, this serum will help skin appear smoother, glossier and visibly brighter. Gently pat a few drops onto clean skin morning and night and follow up with your favourite moisturiser.
Features
- Vitamin C infused with pineapple extract
- Helps to balance skin tone
- Achieves a radiant complexion
- Contains acai extract and sodium hyaluronate
- Skin appears glossier and healthier
The product comes in a box with pineapples printed design. It is a 35ML yellow bottle, with Lacura letters printed in white and a dropper dispenser, very useful to dispense the right amount of serum.
This serum is yellowish with an amazing pineapple smell. Every time I use it, I feel like wanting to drink it as it smells like pineapple juice.
As a serum, it has a liquid texture. I apply three drops over cleansed face and neck with a soft patting. It is quite sticky and you are meant to apply another cream on top. After application of the moisturiser, it becomes alright.
I feel my face luminous and bright. However, I still cannot feel any balance on my skin tone, but I am not using it long enough. Remember that you should use a skincare product for at least three weeks before seeing the effects.
The price is £4.99 for 35ML.
Lacura Watermelon moisturiser
Fight off dull, dry skin and help reduce uneven skin tone with this gorgeous Lacura Watermelon Moisturiser. Enriched with Antioxidants vitamin B3 and vitamin E, with Watermelon Fruit Extract and White Peony Root Extract, your skin will have a healthy glow and feel super refreshed. Perfect for getting you ready for the day or refreshing your face after a long day.
Features
- Quick absorbing gel formula
- Conditions and refreshes skin
- Fight off dry, dull skin
- Enriched with antioxidant
- Includes watermelon fruit extract
This product also comes, as the previous ones, in a box with watermelon prints out this time. The moisturiser comes in a pink jar with a pink screw cap and Lacura printed on white letters.
The product is pink, with a deep watermelon scent, and a gel-type texture. If you apply over the pineapple serum, the watermelon scent is predominant over the pineapple one.
I apply the product with my fingers. One chickpea size amount is enough for my face and my neck. I applied this moisturiser after the pineapple serum and avocado eye cream are absorbed, making a gentle circular massage. The gel is absorbed quickly and it is not sticky. It leaves a refreshing and hydrating feeling on the face (can be because of the watermelon smell).
This product costs £4.99 for 50 ML.
Lacura Grapefruit Dewy Lip Balm
Coat your lips with a layer of moisture complete with a hint of colour with this Lacura Grapefruit Dewy Lip Balm. With a combination of shea butter, coffee seed oil and aloe barbadensis leaf extract, whether on top of bare lips or over the top of your favourite lipstick for a much-needed moisture boost, this dewy lip balm is a makeup bag essential.
Features
- Dewy finish
- Grapefruit scent
- Keeps lips feeling hydrated and conditioned
This collection includes three different lip balms, grapefruit, pear and berries dewy lip balm. I bought the grapefruit one as I love citrusy smells.
This product comes in a box with prints of slices of citrus fruit, I imagine the fruit is grapefruit. The balm comes in a squeezable tube with a screw cap. There is a nozzle to control the amount of product dispensed, which has a biased shape for easy application. The balm is orange transparent and has a lovely orange smell.
It produces a pleasant feeling on the lips. It does not feel too greasy, it is not sticky and leaves your lips soft and hydrated. It is a good option to carry on in your bag and apply whenever you need it.
The price of each lip balm is £1.99 for 10 g.
Conclusions
In principle, this combo works. I don’t know how it should be after using them for a long time, as I mentioned, I have been using them for less than two weeks.
The smell of all the products is lovely, so fruity and summery… The design of the jars is cute and gives an elegant touch to my bathroom.
Within the week and a half time I started using them, I feel they deliver what is promised. It is worth giving a try and I recommend them if you have ALDI close by.
The extra advantage is that they are really affordable, in the worst of cases you will lose only £15.
