Today I want to share my experiences with you about the moisturiser I am currently using. It is made by dr botanicals and it is the Hemp Infused Natural Moisturiser. I got this product in one of my subscription boxes, and it is the first product of this brand I’ve ever used.

What does the brand say?

Protect, nourish, and hydrate skin with dr botanicals Natural Moisturiser. Enriched with hemp seed oil and cocoa butter, this daily moisturiser leaves skin energised and nourished and the complexion is visibly brighter, and glowing.

The hemp seed oil contains all the 21 amino acids and is rich in omega-3 and 6, key components to maintaining healthy skin. It contains vitamins and minerals that protect the skin from free-radical damage. Cocoa butter helps to lock in moisture and reduce water loss.

Availability and Price

You can buy it from some online retails, such as Feelunique or Very. The price is around £15 for a 30 mL tube.

My experience using Hemp Infused Natural Moisturiser

The dr botanicals Hemp Infused Natual Moisturiser comes in a 30 mL tube. It is a travel-friendly size, easy to carry in your handbag. The product comes in a sage-green plastic squeeze tube with a white screw cap. As in all dr botanicals products, the tube shows the letters corresponding to the ingredient claimed, Hm in this product.

The back of the tube has instructions about how to use and few warnings, in English and in French, and the list of ingredients. It also depicts some symbols as PAO, recycling instructions, cruelty-free and others.

Under the screw cap, there is a nozzle to dispense the product. It is quite a big nozzle and normally I dispense more product than I need. However, it is easy to get the excess of product in the tube again, because of the size of the nozzle. I would like to find a smaller nozzle that controls the quantity dispensed.

The very first time I used this product, I was surprised and worried at the same time. The cream itself is green sage in colour and I was concerned whether it was going to stain my skin. The texture of this cream is fluid and it has a soft scent, I should say lemongrass, but nothing strong or persistent.

I dispense a pea-size amount of the cream, rub between my hands, and apply it over my face with circular movements. The first time I used it, I felt a great relief after checking that my face was not green at all (I didn’t want to look like Shrek). The cream doesn’t leave any greasy feeling, but I need to massage until the cream is absorbed, which takes some time. Otherwise, my skin becomes sticky and that is not a comfortable feeling.

I use this cream only in the morning routine, as I prefer to use thicker cream at the night. After I apply the product, my skin feels quite tight, but after few minutes, I start to feel my skin replenished and hydrated and it is really soft. I use makeup over the cream most of the days but my skin feels hydrated until evening. That may be due to the cocoa butter and other emollients contained in the formula.

However, I cannot see the brightness and glowing skin as the brand claims for this product and, though I don’t have many fine lines, I don’t see any reduction on the few lines I have. I have been using the product for two months and maybe I need to use it longer to see the reduction in the fine lines and wrinkles.

Despite these small cons, I highly recommend the product. I think this product is a good option for dry and sensitive skin. I don’t know how it will be for oily skin, but looking at the ingredients, there is no reason why it should not be good for all skin type.

✔ Pros

  • Hydrates skin
  • Not greasy and absorbs well
  • Leaves skin soft and supple
  • Good choice of natural ingredients
  • Good size of packaging, travel-friendly
  • Cruelty-free

❌ Cons

  • You need to massage some time for full absorption
  • Doesn’t contain SPF
  • Nozzle is too big to control the quantity dispensed

❓ Will I buy it again?

Yes, I will, but not for daily use, as there are many other products in my wish list that I want to try before repeating any product used before. It will not be part of my favourite products, but I consider it is a good option to hydrate the skin and I would like to keep it as part of my stash.
