April and May Project Pan Challenge Update. Empty Products

I didn’t post any update for April for any Project Pan challenge because I almost didn’t use anything. First of all, I was on holiday and I didn’t use makeup for the whole week. Then, I got the bug and I was other five days without working and feeling so crap that even I could not do my skincare routine for a few days.

During May I used quite a lot of products and I finished some of them. I also finished some products which are not part of the project pans. I would like to show you anyway and let you know what I think about them. This post is a combination of my project pan update and the empties of the month. All the project pan challenges I am taking part in are organised by the Facebook group Pantastic Ladies Collabs.

Beauty A to Z Project Pan Challenge

This project is going really well. From all the products I selected at the beginning of the year, I already rolled out seven of them and I am pretty sure I will roll out at least two more next month. I still did not use six products, but I hope I will start using them soon.

During the last two months, I finished three products, Neutrogena Cleansing Gel, Yves Rocher blush and Ziaja Foot Cream. I don’t know how many times did I use the foot cream and the blush because I started them before the project pan. Actually, the blush was the oldest in my collection, I bought it when I was still in Spain, before 2007.

I am impressed with the Neutrogena Cleansing Gel. I used it 115 times. That means the price per use is 5 pennies!!!!!!! To my knowledge, this is the cheapest product I am aware of at the moment.

I start using two new products, the Pro-Collagen Night Cream by Elemis and Feel Free Eye Cream. I used a few other products, which I am going to summarise in the table below.

Child of the 80s Project Pan

The advance on this project pan challenge is not huge. I used few times the Hawaiian Tropic SPF 30. I stopped using it because from now until the end of summer, I prefer to use SPF 50 and I am using one sunscreen by Garnier.

At this moment, I almost finished the CeraVe product. I have had it for almost a year now and, despite it being only SPF 30, I use it during the weekends when I am not going to be exposed to the sun. I also used Catrice Highlighter and Tarte blush, but not enough to roll them out (I think I am only one or two uses far from rolling them out).

Lip Service Project Pan

During summer my lips become very dry and I need to give them special care. For this reason, I am advancing in this project pan. I used Laneige Lip Sleeping Balm 14 times, quite a lot considering that I also use other products. The Lip Peeling I included instead of the lip scrub is very effective and I used it 5 times.

I may roll out Catrice Demi Matte Lipstick 020 next month as I am only one use to reach my goal and I may include another lipstick.

Empties of the month which are not part of any project pan challenge

As I said in the intro, I finished other products not included in the project pan during these two months. I would like also to let you know my feelings about the product I finished in the project pan.

I think that you cannot have a good opinion of any skincare product if you don’t use it for a long period of time. Most of the time, you will only feel the benefits of a skincare product after using it for a few weeks.

For makeup products, it is completely different. After a couple of uses, you may know if you like the product or not. It is also true that sometimes you don’t like a product and after using it sometimes you end up loving it, but it is not that normal.

I will only mention the products I finished during April and May which are not part of a project pan challenge:

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

This is a basic in my stash. Sometimes I use micellar water to remove eye makeup only instead of eye makeup remover. It is an affordable product which makes a good job removing even waterproof mascara. I am sure I will buy it again.

Flor de Mayo Chamomile Cleansing Butter

This is a very famous cleansing butter in Spain. I could never find it in the UK, but I contacted the brand and they sent me three packs. The product come in a pack containing a tin of cleansing butter and a reusable cloth.

It is very similar to The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Butter. The packaging of both is almost identical and the same applies to the texture of the product. Both of them are amazingly good for removing makeup, even waterproof mascara and eyeliner. This product is extremely gentle with your eyes and you can rinse it off very easily. I should say there is not a big difference between Flor de Mayo and The Body Shop Cleansing Butters.

However, the Flor de Mayo one smells amazingly nice. I love the smell of this product. It is nice but soft. My skin is dry and does not react very well to some fragrances. However, I never had any problem with this product.

When I contacted the brand they told me that it is possible to buy from some TKMax retails. Anyway, I will bring more with me next time I visit my family in Spain.

Soaper Duper Body Wash

I don’t show many body wash products because normally I use homemade soaps. Homemade soaps have many advantages for me. First of all, I know the origin of all the ingredients I use. Then, they are completely customised to the needs my skin has. Finally, they are cheap and environmentally friendly and I enjoy doing them.

However, sometimes I also use commercial body wash. This is the case of this one, the Zesty Lemon Body Wash by Soaper Duper. It came in a subscription box. The smell is amazing, it smells like lemon pie. However, I don’t like how it leaves my skin.

B. Moisturising Cream

I got this cream in a PR package (thank you Superdrug) together with many other products. Some of them I already finished, like the Cleansing Balm. At this moment I am using the Moisturising Day Cream.

This night cream is average, I mean, it does the job which is hydrating the skin, but it does not give you any extra benefit. I recommend it if you are on a budget and you only want some hydration. However, I will not buy it.

Avant 3-in-1 Hyaluron Filler Collagen eye Formula

This product is amazing. I never had my under-eye so hydrated and healthy before. I have been using it in my bedtime routine. This product came in a subscription box and I should say that I have been using it for quite some time. You only need a rice grain size amount of product for each eye.

I would like to buy it again but, unfortunately, it is quite expensive and at this moment I cannot afford it.

NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray

I don’t have too much to say about his setting spray. It helps to maintain the makeup on your face all day and does not leave a dry finish and it does not feel dry either. It leaves a natural finish on my skin. I think I cannot see the dewy finish because my skin is very dry.

I may buy it again but not in the close future because I have lots of setting spray to use at the moment.

Yves Rocher Couleurs Nature Blush – Shade 10 Teint Claire Rose

This product was part of the Beauty A to Z project pan. However, I am going to mention it here because it is quite special for me. I have been using this blush for more than 10 years and during all this time it behaved as the first day. I love this Yves Rocher range, but, unfortunately, I cannot get their product in the UK and I think that this range has been discontinued.

If possible, I would buy it again if I could find it, but I am afraid it is not possible anymore.

And these are all the products I finished during these two months. I have another which will be finished by end of June. I think I will make a post or video with all the empty products I had during the first half of the year.

Let me know in the comments how are you doing with your project pans and which products did you finish this month.
