With the current situation, since we are washing our hands more frequently than we used to, most of us are having skin problems in the hands, such as extreme dryness or itchiness. It is important to have a good hand cream with you to apply after washing.

The last hand cream I tried was by The Body Shop. They have a huge range of hand creams and this time I chose the Satsuma Hand Cream for dry skin. Do you want to know my thought about it? Continue reading……

What the brand says

“Perfect for on-the-go hydration, don’t leave home without this hand cream. Infused with the scent of zesty satsuma, the light, gel-cream formula absorbs quickly helping to soften and protect the hands.”

Price and availability

You can buy from The Body Shop retail only, in-store or online. The price is £5 for the travel size tube (30 mL).

My experience with the product

The product comes in a squeezable orange tube with a black screw cap. The front of the tube shows the picture of an orange, the name and the quantity of the product and the back displays the ingredient list (INCI), address of the company and other symbols as a recyclable pack, cruelty-free and PAO (to know more about symbols in labels check my post following this link). When you open the screw cap you can see a nozzle to deliver the right amount of product.

The first thing you can feel after opening the tube is the smell. It smells like clementine candies, very orangy and very deep smell. I use this cream in the office and people around can easily feel the smell. It also lasts a very long time on your hands.

The cream has a very pale orange colour and an ideal consistency, not very thick, not very runny. A small amount is enough to fully cover my hand. My skin easily absorbs the cream and I don’t have an oily or sticky feeling at all. As I already mentioned, I apply it in the office and continue working straight away.

Moving to its hydrating properties, my hands are hydrated and nourished after the application. I can feel them hydrated even after washing them. That is important for me, my skin is very dry in general and I use to have flaking and roughness on my hands frequently. That makes it difficult for me to find a cream suitable for my hands. This satsuma hand cream is helping me to fix those problems.

The product comes in a 30 ml tube, very convenient to carry with you in the bag or to travel (if you can remember what travel was…..). Despite the small size, it lasts long as you need a small amount for each application. I used my tube for about 70 applications, which is not bad for such a small tube.

In summary, I like this hand cream. The smell is lovely (citrus fragrance is my favourite) and my hands are hydrated and nourished for a long time. I don’t need to re-apply the product every time I wash my hand.

If I go to The Body Shop or place an online order, I will buy at least a couple of tubes to have for some time.

✔ PROS

  • Nice smell
  • A small amount is sufficient for each application
  • Doesn’t leave an oily or sticky feeling
  • Absorbs quickly
  • Hydrates well
  • Don’t need to re-apply frequently
  • Lasts long for the size
  • Vegan and cruelty-free

❌ CONS

  • Only available at The Body Shop
  • Deep smell that you may not like

❓ Do I recommend it?

If you have dry hands, I fully recommend it and I would say that normal skin can also benefit from this cream. The cream performs well but leaves a deep scent in your hands. You shouldn’t buy it if you don’t like the orange smell.
